The type of personal information we collect

For users of the public version of this site (pages not requiring site login), no personal information is collected.

For users of the internal version of the site (requiring site login), we collect and process the following information:

Personal identifiers and contact information:

  • University of Cambridge CRSID
  • Affiliation with a Cambridge College.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for the following reasons:

  • To establish your affiliation with the University of Cambridge
  • To establish your affiliation with a Cambridge College
  • To allow us to contact you regarding access to the site.

We may also receive personal information indirectly from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • A Cambridge College with which you specify an affiliation, if there is a need to verify that affiliation.

We use the information to limit access to the site and its underlying data to individuals with an established affiliation with the University of Cambridge and/or a Cambridge College.

We may share your information with the College with which you specify an affiliation. The information will not be shared with any other third party.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

  • Your consent: by submitting your information to this site, you consent to us processing your personal information as described in this notice. You can remove your consent at any time by choosing to delete your account using the form provided on the site or by contacting contact@collegetables.co.uk
  • We have a legitimate interest: we need to establish that site users have a genuine and current affiliation with the University of Cambridge and/or a Cambridge College.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in electronic format only. We keep your personal identifiers and contact information for as long as you wish to maintain access to the site, or until we determine that your affiliation with the University of Cambridge and/or a Cambridge College has ended. We will then dispose of your information by deleting it from all databases associated with the site.

Cookies used on this site

The public version of this site (not requiring site login) does not use cookies.

The internal version of this site (requiring site login) uses PHP sessions to link the actions of a user during a browser session. This essential functionality places a cookie PHPSESSID on the user's computer. Session cookies expire after a browser session is ended and are not stored longer term. Cookies are not used to gather personal information or to pass information to third parties.
